      Only the third player Bengals history obtained by trading up in the draft, Bodine is in starting center role ... Bengals traded to move up 12 spots in the fourth round … Despite being a mid-draft selection, Bodine was tagged by coaches as a likely starter from the early days of minicamps … Part of protection that allowed no sacks through Games 1-3 for first time in franchise history ...  Though known at North Carolina as a disciplined performer and a team leader, he combined those attributes with a frequently observed “nasty streak” ... Opted to enter the NFL Draft following his junior season.

    He’s No. 3: The Bengals selected Bodine with the No. 111 selection in the 2014 draft, trading Nos. 123 and 199 to Seattle to move up 12 spots in the fourth round. Only twice previously had the Bengals traded up. In 1995, Cincinnati selected HB Ki-Jana Carter with the No. 1 pick after trading Nos. 5 and 36 to Carolina. In 2002, the Bengals took TE Matt Schobel with No. 67 (third round) after trading Nos. 73 and 145 to Carolina.
