Two Bengals honored for community work

Bengals right end Michael Johnson and linebacker Vincent Rey are the club's two players selected by teammates to receive the NFL Players Association's PULSE Awards for their outstanding work in the community. Johnson and Rey, along with the other teams' winners, have been invited to submit applications for the Byron “Whizzer” White Award and have received monetary donations for their foundations or a charity of their choice.

A panel of peers select five finalists from the pool of PULSE winners. All finalists receive additional charity donations and one will be named the 2013 Byron “Whizzer” White Award winner and receive an additional $100,000 for his charity. The winner is announced at the NFLPA’s State of the Union press conference at the Super Bowl media center in New Orleans.
