Thomas Howard

The Thomas Howard Foundation's (THF) Inaugural Athletic & Academic Awards Reception will honor distinguished athletes locally and nationally across a variety of sports on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. MT at the renowned Coronado Country Club in El Paso.

The Thomas Howard Foundation is among the first to recognize athletes like Howard, who embraced a walk-on status at the college level and furthered their careers to higher achievement. This event will honor these athletes while also fundraising to initiate the THF Walk-On Scholarship Endowment.

Howard

Howard, former University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) standout will welcome around 200 guests to a private evening of networking, priceless memorabilia in the silent and live auction, exceptional food, and an opportunity to take full advantage of the scenic, terrain views of the Franklin Mountains. Additionally, Howard has welcomed recognizable players from across the NFL, distinguished athletes from both junior college and universities as well as members of UTEP are expected.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to host my first Foundation event. As a walk-on athlete in college, I have always wanted to recognize and embrace what walk-ons experience, which is far different financially and academically than participating in college with a full-ride scholarship. I am blessed to have achieved a higher level and want to recognize others who have done so as well.”

A limited number of tickets are available for $100 per person by visiting Mr53.com, or by calling 510-484-7022 or emailing bcoates@exposurebbc.com.  Proceeds from sponsorships and ticket purchases will benefit the Thomas Howard Foundation and its continued support to enhance both athletic and academic programs.
