Atkins Blog: Orange and Black Thursday

Posted Aug 22, 2012

Over the last couple of weeks, some big preseason games have occurred.

We’ve defeated the New York Jets and the Atlanta Falcons. I’ve had the opportunity to ask a few of the rookies how they felt about finally getting the chance to show America their talent. Defensive tackle Devon Still (above, left) after playing in his first NFL preseason game said that putting on the Bengals uniform and getting the opportunity to play against players he grew up watching felt surreal. Devon also stated he felt nervous before hitting the field. Defensive tackle Brandon Thompson was also a little nervous, yet felt excited at the same time.

Brandon was excited to finally get the chance to live out his childhood dream while representing for his hometown, Thomasville.

Orson Charles, tight end, said playing in his first preseason game he was anxious but felt like he was well prepared. Now we are entering our third preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. This will be a good test before going into the season, since the Packers went 15-1 last season.

With that being said I hope to see the Who Dey Nation dressed in their Orange and Black this Thursday.
